Pay Transparency Laws: What Small Businesses Need To Know

As more states adopt pay transparency laws, many small businesses will need to comply with legislation if they or the candidates they’re sourcing are located within these states. For businesses that don’t have as many resources to dedicate to HR, simply tracking and compiling their internal employment data can help answer questions about pay equity and can provide information for hiring decisions.

SIDNEY – The forest green roof and pair of bronze stags frozen in combat are impossible to miss as you drive down Interstate 80.

Next to the storefront built to mimic a log cabin stand the two corporate buildings – 550,000 square feet of nearly empty office space, long offered for a $1 per-year lease. But there are no takers.

LINCOLN — The emailed invitation for the Nov. 14 political campaign event at the Capital Cigar Lounge was to the point: “Friends, Please respond if you are able to attend. This will be an important event.”

The sender was Tony Goins, director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
