Wall Street Headed For 4-Week Streak Of Gains

Stocks rose broadly in afternoon trading on Wall Street Friday and added to weekly gains for the major indexes.

The S&P 500 rose 1.3% as of 2:32 p.m. Eastern with about 90% of stocks in the benchmark index gaining ground. It's on track for its first 4-week winning streak since last year.

In A Twist, An Omaha Utility Could Keep Burning Coal As Renewable Projects Undergo Study

Plans to stop burning coal next year at the North Omaha Station, a chief supplier of electricity to the region, likely won’t happen on schedule.

Instead, the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) wants North Omaha Station, one of the country’s top emitters of nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide, to keep operating until 2026.
