The Omaha Public Works Department is interested in securing the services of firms for various City of Omaha architect, engineer and related services for projects under $150,000 for a period of approximately 12 months, beginning February 1, 2026 for the following disciplines:

• Civil Engineering/Transportation • Right-of-Way Services
• Construction Management/Inspection • Structural Engineering
• Electrical Engineering • Studies
• G.I.S. Services • Surveying

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on January 13, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance vacating a portion of Sleepy Hollow Lane right-of-way east of 29th Avenue to its terminus; providing for the reversion or transfer of the same.
An ordinance to accept the bid of Choppers Lawn Service, in the amount of $55,550.00 to provide for clean-up and turf maintenance services for Ramble Ridge Subdivision located between Fort and 108th Streets and Military Road for the City of Omaha, through December 31, 2026, with the option of two (2) one-year term extensions.
An ordinance to approve an Agreement between the City of Omaha and Omaha Public Schools for the City to provide up to nine (9) Associate School Resource Officers and marked police cruisers, subject to the availability of such cruisers and the School District’s needs for the 2025-2026 school year, involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Omaha Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha $40.00 per hour for each officer.
An ordinance to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and Omaha Public Schools for the City to provide, one uniformed police officer and a marked police car to the following schools: Benson High School, Bluestem Middle School, Buena Vista High School, Burke High School, Central High School, McMillan Magnet Center, Monroe Middle School, Norris Middle School, North High School, Northwest High School, South High School, two uniformed officers and a marked police car to Blackburn Alternative School and one uniformed K-9 certified police officer as a School Resource Officer and a canine to be available at any of the School District’s High Schools, Middle Schools, or Alternative Schools, involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Omaha Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha at an hourly rate of $50.21 during the City’s 2025 payroll year and at an hourly rate which will not exceed $53.01 during the City’s 2026 payroll year, with the Omaha Public Schools being responsible for other costs related to the canine.
An ordinance to approve an Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Elkhorn Public Schools for the City to provide one Associate School Resource Officer and a marked police cruiser, subject to the availability of such cruiser and Elkhorn’s needs, to the Elkhorn Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year, involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; Elkhorn Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha $40.00 per hour for the officer, not to exceed $31,373.00.
An ordinance to approve an Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Elkhorn Public Schools for the City to provide one uniformed police officer and a marked police car to the premises of Elkhorn High School to act as a School Resource Officer for the 2025-2026 school year involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Elkhorn Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha at an hourly rate of $50.21 during the City’s 2025 payroll year and at an hourly rate which will not exceed $53.01 during the City’s 2026 payroll year.
An ordinance to approve an Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Millard Public Schools for the City to provide, five retired Associate School Resource Officers, at the City’s discretion, one retired Canine Associate School Resource Officer, or six retired Associate School Resource Officers if a retired Canine Officer is not available, and marked police cruisers, subject to the availability of such cruisers and Millard’s needs, to the Millard Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year, involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Millard Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha $40.00 per hour for retired Associate Resource School Officer, not to exceed $46,080.00 per retired Associate School Resource Officer; and $45.00 per hour for the retired Canine Associate Resource School Officer working in that capacity not to exceed $64,800.00; and $5.00 per day for the retied Canine Resource School Officer when school is not in session (summer break).
An ordinance to approve an Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Millard Public Schools for the City to provide uniformed police officers and marked police cruisers to Millard North High School, Millard South High School, and Millard West High School, to act as School Resource Officers for the 2025-2026 school year and 2026 Summer Session involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Millard Public Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha at an hourly rate of $50.21 during the City’s 2025- payroll year and at an hourly rate which will not exceed $53.01 during the City’s 2026 payroll year.
An ordinance to approve a contract between the City of Omaha and Westside Community Schools for the City to provide two (2) uniformed police officers and marked police cruisers one for Westside High School and one for Westside Middle School, involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, Westside Community Schools will reimburse the City of Omaha at an hourly rate of $50.21 during the City’s 2025 payroll year and at an hourly rate which will not exceed $53.01 during the City’s 2026 payroll year.
An ordinance in accordance with Section 5.10 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended, to transfer $2,924,667.00 in unencumbered appropriations in the 2026 Budget of the City of Omaha from the Wage Adjustment account to the City departments; and to fix the effective date hereof to be immediately upon passage in accordance with Section 2.12 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended.
An ordinance for approval of additional fuel storage at an existing Class “B” Flammable/Combustible Liquid Storage District, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “B” Flammable Liquids Storage District known as District No. B-225 at 5018 Ames Avenue as requested by Walmart.

OMAHA STREETCAR AUTHORITY
NOTICE TO PUBLIC
The Omaha Streetcar Authority will have a Meeting at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street in Omaha, Nebraska, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Authority shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at https://www.cityofomaha.org/omaha-streetcar.
