The third annual Criminal Defense Boot Camp, presented by the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys
Association, took place at Creighton School of Law in early August. The two-day event was offered to all attorneys, targeting newer lawyers, law students and judiciary or judicial staff. The camp offered 12.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education credits. Some of the information was basic, but essential – things like Retainer Agreements, including flat rate vs. hourly rate vs. trust account vs. contingency fee, “How do I get on the court appointment lists?”, interim fees when a client goes AWOL and many more nitty-gritty pieces of information they may not have learned in school. The organization is headquartered in Lincoln.
