“NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CAMBRIA SUITES HOTEL AT THE YARD TAX INCREMENT FINANCING (TIF) REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PLAN”
Notice is hereby given that the Omaha City Council has set Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM as the date of Public Hearing on the Resolution approving the Cambria Suites Hotel at the Yard Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan. The Public Hearing will be held before the City Council of the City of Omaha in the Legislative Chambers, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska.
The Project site is located at 740 North 14th Street, and is part of a larger project referred to as “The Yard”. “The Yard” is undergoing redevelopment into a $62 million campus featuring a five-story apartment building with approximately 6,000 square feet of retail shops, the Kiewit EIL International training facility, and this particular Project, a five-story national brand hotel.
The Cambria Suites Hotel at the Yard TIF Redevelopment Project Plan proposes an upscale hotel along 14th Street between Mike Fahey and Cuming Streets. Upon completion, the Cambria Suites Hotel will feature:
• 128 rooms;
• 2,000 square feet of meeting space;
• A business center;
• A coffee house and pub bar;
• An indoor pool;
• A 1,200 square foot fitness center; and,
• 94 surface parking stalls for employees and guests.
The Planning Board recommended approval of this Project Plan at the April 5, 2017 public hearing.
The Project Plan recommends the City's participation in the redevelopment of this project site through the allocation of TIF in an amount up to $2,237,000.00. TIF will be used to offset TIF eligible expenses for acquisition, demolition, site preparation, utility relocation costs, architectural and engineering fees, surveys, special foundations, and all public improvements required. The total estimated project costs are $24,551,069.00, but are subject to change as final costs come in.
A copy of said plan is available for public inspection in the City Clerk's Office.
