Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on December 18, 2018 and passed and approved the ordinances entitled:
 
ORDINANCE NO. 41689
AN ORDINANCE to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, FY 2018 National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Grant, Award #2018-AK-BX-0030 in the amount of one million, nine hundred and one thousand, six hundred and forty dollars ($1,901,640), during the project period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2021; to build capacity to comprehensively address untested Sexual Assault Kits in Omaha Police Department Custody; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; and, providing for the effective date thereof. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: Section 1. That, as recommended by the Mayor, the acceptance of and disbursement from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, FY 2018 National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Grant, Award #2018-AK-BX-0030 in the amount of one million, nine hundred and one thousand, six hundred and forty dollars ($1,901,640), during the project period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2021; to build capacity to comprehensively address untested Sexual Assault Kits in the Omaha metro area, is hereby approved. Section 2. A copy of such grant award and special conditions, program narrative, budget and budget narrative, and letters of commitment are attached by this reference and made a part hereof. Section 3. That, the grant period extends from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2021, commencing upon approval of this ordinance. In conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, approval of this Ordinance, involving appropriations of more than one year from receipt of grant funds and expenditures, is hereby authorized. Section 4. That, this Ordinance, being administrative and not legislative in character, shall be in full force and take effect immediately upon passage.

ORDINANCE NO. 41690
AN ORDINANCE to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over· more than one fiscal year from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), FY 2018 COPS STOP School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP), Award #2018-SV-WX-0045, in the amount of four hundred and three thousand, seven hundred eighteen dollars ($403,718), a match in the amount of one hundred and thirty-four thousand, five hundred seventy-three dollars ($134,573) provided by the Sherwood Foundation, and total program amount of five hundred and thirty-eight thousand, two hundred ninety-one dollars ($538,291) during the project period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2020; to provide funding for items specifically authorized in the COPS Financial Clearance Memorandum, including one (1) non-sworn Omaha Police Department hire, equipment and technology, travel and training, and contracts and consultants; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; and, providing for the effective date hereof. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OMAHA: Section 1. Section 4. That, there is a match of $134,573 with this grant award. Section 5. That, this Ordinance, being administrative and not legislative in character, shall be in full force and take effect immediately upon passage.
