The company trying to build a carbon-capture pipeline through South Dakota has not yet proven it should be allowed to take private land for public use, according to a South Dakota Supreme Court ruling issued Thursday.

Farmer/Advocate Pitches ‘Regenerative Agriculture’ Practices During Farm Tour

Unlike the clean rows in more traditional cornfields using GMO-modified seed and glyphosate, vegetation is allowed to grow between the rows at Christensen Farms.

LYONS, Nebraska — You don’t notice anything really different about the Christensen Farms as you drive to the farm entrance.

Thick stands of corn, powered by abundant rains in this corner of northeast Nebraska, have resulted in stalks 8 feet tall, swaying in a late summer breeze. No different than cornfields down the road.

Nebraska Got It Right The First Time

Published by maggie@omahadai... on Thu, 08/22/2024 - 6:00am

When I was a child I was constantly taught that if you do something right the first time you don’t have to do it over again. I didn’t always listen at first but soon I learned it was much easier to get it right from the start.

SINTRA, Portugal (AP) — The doorbell to Martinho de Almada Pimentel’s house is hard to find, and he likes it that way. It’s a long rope that, when pulled, rings a literal bell on the roof that lets him know someone is outside the mountainside mansion that his great-grandfather built in 1914 as a monument to privacy.

There's precious little of that for Pimentel during this summer of “overtourism."
