North Dakota Supreme Court Sides With Summit In Landowner Dispute

The North Dakota Supreme Court has ruled in favor of pipeline company Summit Carbon Solutions in a dispute with landowners over the right to access properties to survey the land.

The ruling released Thursday affirms a lower court ruling that the pipeline company did not need permission from landowners before accessing property to determine a possible route.

Opening stores used to mean everything to pharmacy chains.

CVS Health once boasted of opening or buying more than 2,900 locations in a five-year period. Now it’s shuttering hundreds, while Walgreens, Rite Aid and independent drugstores also pull back.

GARDI SUGDUB, Panama (AP) — On a tiny island off Panama’s Caribbean coast, about 300 families are packing their belongings in preparation for a dramatic change. Generations of Gunas who have grown up on Gardi Sugdub in a life dedicated to the sea and tourism will trade that next week for the mainland’s solid ground.

They go voluntarily — sort of.

A mysterious company has caused a stir for trying to auction Elvis Presley's Graceland in a foreclosure sale this week. A judge has blocked the sale after Presley's granddaughter filed a lawsuit alleging fraud.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The catalyst behind the failed gambit to sell off the iconic Graceland property in Memphis is a mystery.

The self-styled investment company also is under fire from a lawsuit alleging fraud, an aggressive attorney general and a community of Elvis Presley loyalists who consider the home-turned-museum of the the king of rock n’ roll to be sacred ground.

LINCOLN — A gallop for equestrian fans: The $1.2 million expansion of campsites and facilities for visitors traveling with horses is set to open this week at Nebraska’s Fort Robinson State Park.

The additions now double the capacity of the Mare Barn Campground, which is on the main park complex of the sprawling 22,000-acre Fort Robinson in northwestern Nebraska.

In recent years, Colorado has been a poster child for the U.S. housing crisis. Previously a relatively affordable state, it has seen home prices increase nearly sixfold over the past three decades, outstripping even Florida and California.

Once a problem confined to coastal cities, unaffordable housing has increasingly become an issue in the nation’s heartland.

Hikers Challenged To Hit The Trails, Qualify For Prizes

The state parks department is offering prizes for hikers who trek down 45 designated trails across Nebraska as part of a “Trail Trek” competition that begins Wednesday.

As is its wont to do, U.S. News and World Report recently released its Best States “rankings,” a list on which Nebraska placed third, up one spot from 2023. Only Utah and New Hampshire bested our fair environs in the best states standings.
