$114M Omaha Mental Health Center For Kids On Track For 2026 Opening

OMAHA — A “no wrong door” philosophy, which means every youth under 19 that walks in will be seen, is among the highlights of a new four-story pediatric mental health center rising in Nebraska’s largest city.

The Behavioral Health & Wellness Center at Children’s Nebraska is to span 107,250 square feet on seven acres of the Children’s medical campus at 84th Street and West Dodge Road in Omaha.

In 2023, nearly 29,000 households scattered across rural Nebraska received postcards instructing them how to get their drinking water tested, free of charge, for a harmful contaminant state policymakers have been aware of for decades.

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt is developing a plan to rebuild Gaza without forcing Palestinians out of the strip in a counter to President Donald Trump’s proposal to depopulate the territory so the U.S. can take it over.

GRETNA, Nebraska — An alternative multimillion-dollar retail and entertainment project surfaced Tuesday night as a potential lifeline for the embattled Gretna good life district once led by businessman Rod Yates.

Drew Snyder of Woodsonia Real Estate revealed his vision to the Gretna City Council, showcasing signature features such as a 15,000-seat outdoor concert amphitheater and a multisport facility.

Eventually, the Nebraska Legislature will address this year’s impending deficit and the state’s annual property tax angst, the latter a required subject each session.

Smart money says it gets there soon. Besides, a keyword search indicates over three dozen related bills are already in the tax-and-budget hopper.
