As is its wont to do, U.S. News and World Report recently released its Best States “rankings,” a list on which Nebraska placed third, up one spot from 2023. Only Utah and New Hampshire bested our fair environs in the best states standings.

JINAN, China (AP) — Shi Mei and her husband earn a decent enough living by growing corn and millet on their small farm in eastern China's Shandong province. In 2021, they diversified by investing in solar energy — signing a contract to mount some 40 panels on their roof to feed energy to the grid.

LINCOLN — When they jumped into action a few years ago, Liz Shea-McCoy and friends knew little more than they did not want to see the Pershing Center mosaic mural destroyed.
They got an expert to tell them whether a rescue was feasible. They raised enough money for early phases of preserving the mural, including the task of detaching 763,000 small ceramic tiles.

The Olympic torch will finally enter France when it reaches the southern seaport of Marseille on Wednesday. And it's already been quite a journey.
After being lit on April 16 in Ancient Olympia, the torch was carried around Greece before leaving Athens aboard a three-mast ship named Belem, headed for Marseille.

The freeway that bifurcated North Omaha was marketed as an infrastructure development that would benefit all of Omaha. However, it solidified segregation, dramatically decreased Black homeownership and led to the amplification of environmental injustice.
