Gamblers Are All-In at Omaha Law League’s Casino Night
A little bit of Vegas came to Omaha in April, all in the name of raising funds for a noble cause. The Omaha Law League supports legal education in Omaha by giving courthouse tours for 2000 area 4th graders and supporting Creighton and UNL Law schools. The tours are one of the Law Day activities offered around May 1. For many years, the OLL held a luncheon and fashion show, A few years ago, the show moved to evening.
Then last year, the planners decided to take their luck to Vegas, via a splashy Casino Night. Buoyed by its success, the new “annual” event moved to the Livestock Exchange Building in South Omaha.
Besides munching and sipping, attendees were able to gamble away their Monopoly money as well as participate in a “Wine Pull” raffle and a silent auction. The money raised will pay for the buses to bring students to the tours
