HRAM Recognizes Omaha Organizations For Their Diversity, Inclusion Initiatives
Heartland Family Service was recently recognized as a leader in implementing workplace diversity and inclusion policies.
The Human Resources Association of the Midlands presented HFS with its inaugural IDEAL Award with the Thrive distinction – the top-level of the new honor.
The IDEAL Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate a commitment across five dimensions: inclusion, diversity, equity, advocacy and leadership.
“Our D&I efforts are part of our strategic plan, created by our Board of Directors and Leadership Team,” HFS President & CEO John Jeanetta said in a news release. “So, the leadership of the organization has prioritized these efforts and has done so for a long time now.”
HRAM also recognized Omaha Performing Arts with the Emerge distinction – for organizations that display an ongoing commitment to implementing existing policy – and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center with the Cultivate distinction – which honors organizations excelling at initial efforts to recognize the need for diversity and inclusion efforts.
“Our goal is to demonstrate that diversity and inclusion efforts can be implemented by any organization, large or small,” Carrie Svendsen, HRAM board president, said in a news release.
The new HRAM IDEAL Award stems from the organization’s Mosaic Award. For more information on the program, visit hram.org/page/HRAMIDEALAward.
