Nebraska Lawmakers Introduce 69 Bills on Day 8
Senators reconvened last Thursday to continue introduction of new bills.
Among the 69 measures introduced were:
• LB 424, sponsored by Gordon Sen. Tom Brewer, which would provide and change zoning requirements for wind energy generation projects;
• LB 435, sponsored by Blair Sen. Ben Hansen, which would require an official watermark on certain ballots under the Election Act;
• LB 442, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Matt Hansen, which would create the Commission on Asian American Affairs;
• LB 454, sponsored by Henderson Sen. Curt Friesen, which would adopt the School Property Tax Stabilization Act and change the valuation of agricultural land;
• LB 461, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Patty Pansing Brooks, which would require human trafficking informational posters in casinos;
• LB 468, sponsored by Bayard Sen. Steve Erdman, which would provide compensation by the Game and Parks Commission for property damage caused by a wildfire;
• LB 472, sponsored by Bennington Sen. Wendy DeBoer, which would require law enforcement officers to intervene when excessive force is used and require policies on excessive force;
• LB 476, sponsored by Bellevue Sen. Carol Blood, which would change provisions relating to the Stroke System of Care Act;
• LB 481, sponsored by Omaha Sen. Terrell McKinney, which would adopt the Marijuana Conviction Clean Slate Act, decriminalize possessory marijuana and synthetic cannabinoid offenses and drug paraphernalia offenses and change related provisions; and
• LR 24CA, sponsored by Lincoln Sen. Anna Wishart, which would amend the state constitution to change the one-subject requirement for initiative measures.
