OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska’s top election official had no authority to strip voting rights from people convicted of a felony, the state Supreme Court ruled Wednesday in a decision that could add hundreds of new voters to the rolls and potentially help tip the balance on Nov. 5.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A decade after the Flint, Michigan, water crisis raised alarms about the continuing dangers of lead in tap water, President Joe Biden on Tuesday set a 10-year deadline for cities across the nation to replace their lead pipes, finalizing an aggressive approach aimed at ensuring that drinking water is safe for all Americans.

OMAHA — Allegations flew Monday in Nebraska’s most competitive U.S. Senate race, with one campaign threatening legal action over campaign advertising and a report about talk of “Hitler Youth.”

Nebraska nonpartisan candidate Dan Osborn’s campaign sent a cease and desist letter to an outside group advertising in support of U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb.
