I commend City Councilman and congressional hopeful Brinker Harding for at least trying to do something about the homeless problem. But is it really a solution or just the go-to response when a problem doesn’t really seem solvable?
The go-to response I’m referring to? Put them in jail.

I’ve watched the Jimmy Kimmel joke where they claim he made fun of the assassination of Charlie Kirk numerous times, and I can’t find where he made fun of him or his murder. I can see where he made fun of the president. And I can see where he commented on MAGA. But I can’t see where he said anything disparaging about Mr. Kirk or celebrated his death.

The First Amendment is in the news, and it’s under attack. The suspension of Jimmy Kimmel is the big story right now, but there is an attack on the First Amendment right here at home that has gotten very little publicity.

I’d like to give you a different perspective on Charlie Kirk’s death. I never met him, but I knew him. I knew him because in some small way, I used to be like him.
Charlie Kirk was a provocateur. He was a controversial figure. He was a radio talk show host.

During my sophomore year at Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio, I took a world history class.
It was taught by this nun who was really old, or at least I thought she was. I was in High School, and back then, I thought 40 was really old. But if she wasn’t 80, she sure as hell acted like it. I remember joking that she taught that class when it was called “current events.”

I have the utmost respect for Crista Eggers and everyone who continues to work so diligently to get medical cannabis to the sick and dying patients of Nebraska. They are not only fighting for that medicine, they are also fighting for democracy.

As a general rule, until proven otherwise, I like to think the best of people. So, I thought the best of Congressman Bacon when I received this one-sentence press release from his office.
“I voted today to release the Epstein Files. It is more far-reaching than the discharge bill.”
