Ahead of decisions by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) that could ban menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars, Stanford University and the American Heart Association released a study that tracked decades of predatory marketing efforts from cigarette companies and found that they are still targeting young people, Black people and women.

MAPA 2022 Regional Service And Citizenship Awards Announced

OMAHA, Neb.-Oct. 6, 2022—A city clerk turned community champion following the 2019 floods, an organization leading the way to increase affordable housing in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro and the retired President & CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber who worked tirelessly on economic development were recognized for their work by the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) at its annual Council of Officials meeting last Wednesday evening in Glenwood, Iowa.

OMAHA — Confidence in the economy slumped again in September, fueling the worst string of optimism readings since the 2008-09 recession, according to the author of Creighton University’s Mid-America Business Conditions Index.
