LINCOLN — The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission has unanimously approved transferring a racing license from a racetrack in Hastings to a new facility in Ogallala.

Seven Omaha Business Districts To Get Pandemic-Related Grants For Safety Lighting, Bollards

OMAHA — Seven “business improvement districts” in the City of Omaha are to receive grants from the city’s allotment of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds.

Proposals are set for approval this week by the Omaha City Council. Mayor Jean Stothert issued a news release outlining grants that total about $1.68 million.

MOMBASA, Kenya (AP) — Dressed in protective clothing and armed with a smoker, Peter Nyongesa walked through the mangroves to monitor his beehives along the Indian Ocean coastline.

The 69-year-old Nyongesa recalled how he would plead unsuccessfully with loggers to spare the mangroves or cut only the mature ones while leaving the younger ones intact.

We study the connection between housing inequities and health, with the goal of informing local, state and national policy. Our focus is on how interdisciplinary research on housing relates to equity in health, race, income and aging.
