NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump Jr. returned to court Monday as something of a character witness for his father's real estate empire, waxing exuberantly about the former president's "incredible vision" and portfolio of "great, iconic projects" at the New York civil fraud trial now threatening his company's future.

What Does Friendship Look Like In America?

Americans place a lot of importance on friendship. In fact, 61% of U.S. adults say having close friends is extremely or very important for people to live a fulfilling life, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey. This is far higher than the shares who say the same about being married (23%), having children (26%) or having a lot of money (24%).

LINCOLN — A storied Nebraska ranch — which grabbed national attention for its quirky name, size and whopping price tag — will live on in the hands of locals who have their own deep Sandhills roots.

Indeed, the two new owners of Dumbbell Ranch, who split the 15,500 acres in a $16.5 million purchase deal, reside on bordering family ranches.

Are Declining Rental Prices Bad News For Real Estate?

Rent prices across the country dropped an average of 0.5% in September. That’s the fifth month in a row that rent prices have dropped and while rates are still higher than pre-pandemic prices, it’s significantly down from the peak cost recorded in July 2022.

That’s excellent news for prospective renters.

For residents in some Pennsylvania communities, flushing the toilet has suddenly gotten much more expensive.

A Historic Housing Construction Boom May Finally Moderate Rent Hikes

An unprecedented surge in the nationwide construction of new housing — mostly apartments — may finally be making a dent in fast-rising rents that have been making life harder for tenants.

More than 1.65 million housing units were under construction last year, the highest annual number since federal record-keeping started in 1969. This year, the number was even higher — almost 1.7 million in September.
