PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of State Statute Sections 13-501 to 13-513, that the governing body will meet on the 11th day of September 2023, at 6:00 o’clock pm, at 15505 Warehouse Street, Bennington NE for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to the following proposed budget. Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, a meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Bennington will be held at 6:00 p.m.  The agenda, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the office of the City Clerk during normal business hours.  As part of the meeting, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held for the purpose of:

2023 City of Bennington Downtown Blight Study and Declaration of the Blight Study Area within the City of Bennington’s corporate limits as substandard and blighted pursuant to the Nebraska Community Development Law, said Blight Study Area being:

A parcel of land located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 14 and the Northeast Quarter of Section 15, all in Township 16 North, Range 11 East of the Sixth P.M., in the City of Bennington, Douglas County, Nebraska, beginning at the northeast corner of said Section 15; thence west on the north line of said Section 15, a distance of 1070 feet, more or less to the centerline of the Big Papillion Creek; thence southeasterly on said centerline of the Big Papillion Creek to the west right-of-way line of North 156th Street; thence south on said west right-of-way line to the intersection with the westerly extension of the south line of Outlot B, Original Town of Bennington; thence east on the south line of said Outlot B and its westerly extension and the south line of Lot C, Original Town of Bennington to the southeast corner of said Lot C; thence southerly and easterly on the south line of the existing Bennington corporate limits to the southeast corner of Lot 21, Warehouse Lots; thence north on the east line of Lot 21, Warehouse Lots, to the northeast corner of said Lot 21; thence north on the east line of Vermont Street (now vacated) to the north line of the northwest corner of said Section 14; thence west on said north line, a distance of 1550 feet, more or less to the point of beginning.
