PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on March 2, 2021, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

An ordinance to transfer a permanent easement in land to Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha, for purposes of relocating facilities, and appurtenances thereto, upon City-owned property located near North 16th Street and Grant Street; to authorize the Mayor to execute the Right-of-Way Easement.

 

An ordinance to transfer a permanent easement in land to Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha, for purposes of relocating facilities, and appurtenances thereto, upon City-owned property located near North 16th Street and Charles Street; to authorize the Mayor to execute the Right-of-Way Easement.

 

An ordinance to transfer a permanent easement in land to Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha, for purposes of relocating facilities, and appurtenances thereto, upon City-owned property located near Ohio Street, between North 16th Street and North 18th Street; to authorize the Mayor to execute the Right-of-Way Easement.

 

An ordinance declaring the necessity of acquiring, for use by the City of Omaha, the necessary private property for the purpose of the Grover Street – 50th to 60th Streets Public Improvements, project identified as OPW 53896; providing that the City negotiate with the property owners for land acquisitions, permanent easements and                 temporary construction easements; providing that as to each specified parcel which cannot be obtained by negotiation, condemnation proceedings be undertaken and completed.

 

An ordinance to amend Omaha Municipal Code Sections 33-1, 33-25, 33-29, 33-30, 33-41, 33-42, 33-43, 33-44, 33-46, and 33-49 and to delete Omaha Municipal Code Sections 33-45 and 33-48; to provide definitions for terms; to establish procedures and rules for collection of materials, specifications for containers, amount of solid waste to be collected, and location for collection to make the Omaha Municipal Code consistent with the City’s solid waste collection rules, practice, and contracts; to repeal Sections  33-1, 33-25, 33-29, 33-30, 33-41, 33-42, 33-43, 33-44, 33-45, 33-46, 33-48 and 33-49 as heretofore existing.

 

An ordinance approving a redevelopment and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Agreement between the City of Omaha and 33 Jones, LLC, to implement the Dewey Park Apartments Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan for Dewey Park Apartments a redevelopment project site located at 3312 and 3306 Jones Street, and 618 South 33 Street, which proposes demolishing the existing residential structures and construction of two new buildings – a residential building and a building for amenity space and install on-street parking stalls along 33rd Street and along Jones Street; the agreement authorizes the use of up to $1,400,000.00, plus accrued interest, in excess ad valorem taxes (TIF) generated by the development to help fund the cost of the project.

 

An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for cutting and clearing weeds, grass and worthless vegetation in accordance with Sections 18-21 through 18-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2021-06.

 

An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for litter removal in accordance with Sections 18-21 through 18-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2021-07.

 

An ordinance to approve an Inter-local Cooperation Act Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District for the design, construction, operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, regulation and ownership of Zorinsky Lake Water Quality Basin #2 Project, including, but not limited to, a dam, reservoir, and mitigation improvements of Zorinsky Lake northwest of 204th and F Street is hereby approved. The City is authorized to accept the conveyance of the Project Land, as more specifically delineated in such Agreement, upon completion of the Basin #2 Project.

 

An ordinance to approve open orders, based upon lowest and best bid within specifications, in amounts totaling $793,130.80 in the first year between the City of Omaha and various vendors, for the purchase of medical supplies used by the Omaha Fire Department, with the possibility of expending funds from more that one budget year, in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha 1956 as amended; to provide for payment to Bound Tree Medical LLC, Life-Assist Inc., and Zoll Medical Corporation for open orders and price agreements.

 

An ordinance (1) to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska, University of Nebraska at Omaha on behalf of the Nebraska Center for Justice Research in the amount of $26,994.00; and (2) to authorize funding for such agreement from the City of Omaha’s FY 2019 Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant Award #2019-GP-BX-0056, awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA); to work directly with the District of Nebraska, Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Task Force and law enforcement agencies as the PSN research partner; involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; providing for payment from a specific account.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC

 

The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Roskens Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.
