CITY OF OMAHA

NOTICE TO PUBLIC

 

The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Jesse Lowe Conference Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.

Waiver of Section 55-126 – Variance to the required interior side yard setback from 25’ to 22’ and to the maximum impervious coverage from 30% to 37.7% to allow for the construction of a home/garage addition and concrete driveway extension; 623 S. 78th St.

Waiver of Section 55-186 – Variance to the required street side yard setback from 15’ to 6’ to allow for the construction of a single-family home and detached garage; 5457 S. 51st St.

Waiver of Section 55-716 – Variance to the required bufferyard between GI and R5 Districts from 50’ to 33’ and to the required bufferyard between GI and R2 Districts from 60’ to 11’ to allow for the construction of a warehouse building addition; 3129 N. 84th Cir.

Waiver of Sections 55-146, 55-782(b)(6), & 55-740(e) – Variance to the required to the front yard setback from 40’ to 25’ to allow for the construction of a detached garage on a double frontage lot and to the accessory structure front yard setback from 60’ to 25’ and to the hard-surface driveway requirement to allow for the construction of a storage container building under 750 square feet with a door wider than 6’; 7422 N. 59th St.

Waiver of Section 55-146 – Variance to the interior side yard setback from 10’ to 5.5’ to allow for the replacement of an existing carport addition with a new garage addition; 3030 S. 119th St.

Waiver of Section 55-718 – Variance to the total required tree plantings within a bufferyard between HI and AG Districts from 92 to 53 to allow for the construction of a concrete batch plant; 10701 N. 111th St.

Waiver of Section 55-146 – Variance to the required front yard setback from 40’ to 14’, to the rear yard setback from 25’ to 16’, to the interior side yard setback from 10’ to 6’, to the maximum building coverage from 30% to 38%, and the maximum impervious coverage from 40% to 45% to allow for the construction of a home addition and front porch as well as the replacement of an uncovered backyard deck with a covered deck and stairs; 2405 S. 103rd St.

Waiver of Sections 55-206, 55-740(f), & 55-734 – Variance to the maximum impervious coverage from 60% to 69%, to the perimeter parking lot landscaping depth from 10’ to 0’, and to the required number of parking stalls from 21 to 18 to allow for the renovation of an existing church into a personal improvement services and business/trade school campus; 2443 Evans St.

Waiver of Sections 55-716, 55-718, & 55-734 – Variance to allow for no screening for a required bufferyard between GI and DR Districts, to the total required tree plantings on the site from 388 to 216, and to the required number of parking stalls from 126 to 9 to allow for the construction of a new composting facility; 6502 S. 60th St.

Waiver of Section 55-186 – Variance to the required rear yard setback from 25’ to 7.5’ to allow for the construction of a freestanding pool pavilion structure; 4218 S. 220th St.

Waiver of Section 55-764 (e) – Variance to the hours of operation for a non-commercial day shelter from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to allow for 24-hour services; 2566 & 2570 Farnam St.

Waiver of Sections 55-146 & 55-928(e) – Variance to the maximum impervious coverage from 40% to 70% and to the minimum perimeter parking lot landscaping depth along street frontages in an urban design district from 15’ to 0’ to allow for the replacement and reconfiguration of a parking lot for an existing church; 13938 Pierce St.

Waiver of Section 55-186 – Variance to the required front yard setback from 35’ to 13’ to allow for the construction of a front stoop & steps on an existing single-family home; 5708 Rees St.
