Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on July 22, 2025 and passed and approved the following ordinances:

 

ORDINANCE NO. 44334

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located at 9009 North 216th Street from AG-Agricultural District to DR-Development Reserve District.                                                                                           

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Part of Section 24, Township 16 North, Range 10 East, containing the South 432.04 North 812.04 West 1044 FT of the NW 1/4 SW 1/4, as surveyed and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from AG-Agricultural District to DR-Development Reserve District.

ORDINANCE NO. 44335

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located at 1909 South 2nd Street from GI-General Industrial District to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).                                                                                     

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Part of Lot 7 with½ of the vacated alley adjacent on the south and the South½ of Lots 8, 9, and 10, along with ½ of the vacated alley adjacent on the south, all in Block 460, Grandview Addition, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from GI-General Industrial District to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).

ORDINANCE NO. 44336

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located at 1915 South 2nd Street from GI-General Industrial to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: North ½ of Lots 11 and 12 along with ½ of the adjacent vacated alley on the north, Block 460, Grandview Addition, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from GI-General Industrial to R4-Single-Family Residential District (High-Density).

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located at 365 North 4 7th Street f om R4(35)-Single-Family Residential District (High--Density) to R5-Urban Family Residential District.                                                                                       

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Lot I, Lincoln Place Replat One, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from R4(35)-Single-Family Residential District (High--Density) to R5-Urban Family Residential District.

ORDINANCE NO. 44338

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code. to rezone property located at 4805 and 4809 South 22nd Street from R7-Medium-Density Multiple-Family Residential District and GC-General Commercial District to R7-Medium-Density Multiple-Family Residential District.                                                                                       

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is. changed and amended in accordance, with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: North 40’ of Lot 16 and all of Lot 17, Block l 14, South Omaha City Lots. a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County. Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from R7-Medium-Density Multiple-Family Residential District and GC-General Commercial District to R7-Medium-Density Multiple-Family Residential District.

ORDINANCE NO. 44339

AN ORDINANCE to amend the boundaries of the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District, incorporate into that district the property located at 1 7007 Q Street; and to provide for an effective date.                                                                                          

Summary: In accordance with Sections 55-681 through 55-688 and 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, the official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended so that: Lot 2, except 98 square foot triangle at the NE comer taken for right-of-way, Mission Park, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska is hereby rezoned to be included in and incorporated into the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District; provided, that the base zoning district for such property shall not be changed by this ordinance.

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is. changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: South 53’ of Lots 23 and 24. Block 1, Marysville Addition, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska. is hereby rezoned from R7-Medium-Density Multiple-Family Residential District to NBD-Neighborhood Business District.

AN ORDINANCE to amend the boundaries of the ACI-Area of Civic lmpo1iance Overlay District to incorporate into that district the property located at 3802 North 24th Street: and to provide an effective date.                                                                                          

Summary: In accordance with Sections 55-609 through 55-617 and 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, the official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended so that: South 53’ of Lots 23 and 24, Block 1, Marysville Addition, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned to be included in and incorporated into the ACI-Area of Civic Importance Overlay District: provided, that the base zoning district for such property shall not be changed by this ordinance.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on August 5, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

An ordinance to approve and authorize an Agreement between the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska on behalf of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the City of Omaha, Nebraska, for certain forensic and crime lab testing services involving the payment of money from the appropriations of more than one (1) year in accordance with Sections 5.16 and 5.17 of the Omaha Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended; to provide for the payment to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, an annual administrative fee of $20,000.00, fees on a per test       basis as needed by the Omaha Police Department, and fees for court testimony and      consultation with the term of the Agreement being three (3) years with the parties having the ability to mutually extend the agreement for a period of two (2) additional one (1) year terms.

 

An ordinance pursuant to Home Rule Charter Section 5.17 involving the payment of moneys from appropriations of more than one fiscal year, to enter into an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the City of Omaha and the City of Kearney, controlling the distribution of keno lottery proceeds; to provide that the City of Kearney will receive 8.75% of the gross proceeds, the City of Omaha will receive 2% of the gross proceeds for state taxes and 1% of the gross proceeds to defray City administrative costs, and the remaining proceeds shall be retained by the City of Omaha; and to approve the Agreement from the date of execution through May 14, 2021.
