PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on September 1, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

Res. that, the Preliminary Plat entitled Omaha Box Building Subdivision, a subdivision inside city limits, with a waiver of Section 53-8(4d), Lot  frontage, located south of 21st Street E and Avenue J, along with the conditions, is hereby accepted; and, the preparation of the final plat of this subdivision is hereby authorized.

Res. that, the Preliminary Plat entitled Gene Leahy Mall Replat 3, a minor plat inside city limits, located northeast of 10th and Farnam Streets, along with the conditions, is hereby accepted; and, the preparation of the final plat of this subdivision is hereby authorized.

Res. that, the Final Plat entitled Ponca Hills Estates, a subdivision outside the city limits, located northwest of Northern Hills Drive and 66th Street, is hereby approved and accepted.

Res. that, the Special Use Permit application submitted by James T Smith, Sr. for a Special Use Permit to allow development in the ED-North Hills  Environmental Resources Overlay District located northwest of Northern Hills Drive and 66th Street, Omaha, Nebraska, is hereby approved and the Permits and Inspection Division is directed to issue the necessary permit therefor, provided the conditions set out in Exhibit “A” of the referenced application, conditions set out in Exhibit “B”, and all applicable local or state statutes, ordinances or regulations are complied with. The proposed Special Use Permit has been reviewed and evaluated pursuant to, and meets each of, the criteria set forth in Section 55-885 of the Omaha Municipal Code.

Res. that, the Subdivision Agreement among the City of Omaha, James T. Smith, Sr., and The Ponca Hills Estates Homeowners Association, as recommended by the Mayor, is hereby approved. The Subdivision is to be known as Ponca Hills Estates (Lots 1-17 and Outlots A-B) and is located northwest of Northern Hills Drive and 66th Street.

An ordinance to rezone property located at 201 North 90th Street from R1-Single-Family Residential District (Large Lot) and R2-Single-Family Residential District (Low-Density) to R5-Urban Family Residential District.

An ordinance to amend the boundaries of the MCC-Major Commercial Corridor Overlay District, to incorporate into that district the property located at 201 North 90th Street.

Anyone interested in these matters should be in attendance.

NOTICE

The City of Omaha, acting as Agent for the owner, invites bids for the REHABILITATION OF DWELLING UNITS at:

4916 Spaulding Street

Closing Time:  3:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2020

Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the closing time, as per specifications on file in the office of Rehab Division of the Planning Department, Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Sealed bids to be addressed to Rehabilitation Division, Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center marked “Bid on REHABILITATION OF DWELLING UNIT, with the address and job number identified”, must be on file in his office on or before 3:00 P.M. on the closing date, at which time the bids will be opened and read by the Rehab Division before bidders and the public in Room 1111, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages as specified by the U.S. Secretary of Labor as set forth in the specification may be paid on the rehabilitation work.  The contractor must, furthermore, insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color or creed, sex or national origin.

The bidder must file a certificate of insurance with the Rehab Division evidencing comprehensive public liability insurance coverage protecting the property owner for not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate arising out of the work performed by the contractor.  Evidence of workman’s compensation insurance must be shown prior to receipt of the order to proceed with the work.

The owner reserves the right to accept, reject, or negotiate any or all bids in whole or in part.
