NOTICE TO PUBLIC

The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Jesse Lowe Conference Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on September 13, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

An ordinance approving an Agreement by and between the City of Omaha, and Premier Biotech, LLC, for drug and alcohol testing of City employees and prospective employees as required by the Department of Transportation and all other employees and prospective employees under the City of Omaha Alcohol and Drug Policy and Procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements; which Agreement involves the payment of money from appropriations of more than one (1) year as provided in Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended for a period from August 1, 2022 through July 31, 2023; to provide funds from the Human Resources Department Fund 11111, Organization No. 105011.

An ordinance to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the Nebraska Crime Commission, FY 2021 STOP Violence Against Women (VAWA) Grant, Award #15JOVW-21-GG-00535-STOP ($218,499.27) and Award #2019-WF-AX-0004 ($30,142.91) in the amount of ($248,642.18), during the project period of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023; to enhance victim assistance services and prosecute cases of domestic violence through the multi-agency Douglas County Community Response Team as detailed in the attached grant application; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The South Omaha Turnback Tax Grant Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, September 21, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at the South Omaha Public Library, 2808 Q St., Omaha, NE. The public hearing will be held to receive public comment on grant proposals that showcase important historical aspects of defined areas within South Omaha, assist with the reduction of street and gang violence in defined areas of South Omaha, and assist with small business and entrepreneurship growth in defined areas of South Omaha, and to accept 2022-2023 grant applications. Grant applications will be accepted September 22, 2022, through November 23, 2022.

Applications can be found online at www.cityofomaha.org or www.douglascounty-ne.gov beginning Thursday, September 22, 2022, and are due by end of day Thursday, November 23, 2022.

Section 44-60, 121, 142: Hearing to determine what disciplinary action is merited by the performance of electrical work without the required permit, and the refusal to request a final inspection.

NOTE: All requests for sign language interpreters (signers) will require a minimum of 48 hours advance notice.  If necessary, contact the Chief Electrical Inspector at (402) 444-5350 ext. 2130.

The Electrical Board reserves the right to amend the above agenda.  A copy of the official agenda, kept continually current, shall be available for public inspection at the office of the Omaha Planning Department, 1819 Farnam Street, Suite 1110, Omaha, Nebraska, during normal business hours.

Prior to the hearing, the applicant may schedule a time to review the City’s case file during normal business hours by contacting the Chief Electrical Inspector at (402) 444-5350 ext. 2130.  If an alternative (audio version) to this agenda is necessary, please notify the Chief Electrical Inspector at (402) 444-5350 ext. 2130, 72 hours in advance.
