The Omaha Planning Department announced modifications to its normal business operations due to restricted access to the Omaha Douglas Civic Center.

The department has suspended all testing, in-person meetings and board meetings through April 19.

Permit applications are available online, except for code enforcement permits. Those seeking permits for code enforcement cases should call 402-444-5371 to submit an application.

To submit paper plans, mail them to Permits & Inspections, 1819 Farnam St., Suite 1110, Omaha, NE 68183. A completed permit must accompany paper plants. Contacts should include a phone number. Electronic plans submission is also available.

All scheduled plan review meetings will be held using Zoom or Google Meet. The agenda should be sent a few days in advance and identify key code issues to discuss. Meetings can be held Tuesdays through Thursdays at 10 or 11 a.m. Email Le Nguyen at le.nguyen@cityofomaha.org to schedule.

Inspectors are continuing to perform inspections. Licensing is available online for new licenses and renewals. All in-person testing through April 19 will be rescheduled.

Call the Planning Department at 402-444-5350 with any questions on these adjustments.
