INVITATION TO BID
RALSTON MIDDLE SCHOOL AND
KAREN WESTERN ELEMENTARY
HVAC PROJECT PHASE II
RALSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS
PROJECT INFORMATION. Douglas County School District No. 28-0054, commonly known as Ralston Public Schools (the “District”), is requesting bids from qualified individuals or entities to complete an HVAC improvement project at Ralston Middle School and Karen Western Elementary School, including but not necessarily limited to removal and replacement of existing HVAC systems. The project site will be available immediately upon the District issuing a Notice to Proceed, with construction to commence in or around summer 2022. Some of the project may begin in or around fall 2022, with the bulk of the work to be completed in spring/summer 2023. Substantial completion of the project must be achieved by August 1, 2023.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE. All Bidders must attend a pre-bid conference on June 7, 2022, at 10:00 am local time at Ralston Middle School, 8202 Lakeview St., Ralston, NE 68127, to familiarize themselves with the site conditions, bidding requirements, General/Supplementary Conditions of Construction, and to ensure comprehension of the specifications. Engineer will provide responses to bidders’ questions posed at Pre-Bid Conference by Addendum.
BID SUBMISSION AND OPENING. Bids must be made on the bid form contained in the Bidding Documents. One (1) completed copy of the bid form, signed by the bidder, shall be addressed and delivered to Ralston Public Schools, Attn: Asst. Sup’t Buckingham, 8545 Park Drive, Ralston, NE 68127. Bids will be received until 12:00 pm local time on July 7, 2022, at which time they will be opened publicly and simultaneously in the presence of bidders and/or their representatives. Faxed bids are not allowed. Any bid received after the deadline will not be opened or considered, and will be returned to bidder.
AWARDING OF BID. The bid will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The winning bid shall be announced by the Board of Education at its meeting to be held on July 25, 2022, or at such other meeting determined by the Board.
DAVIS-BACON. All Bidders must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act and other applicable federal requirements. Contractors and their subcontractors are to pay laborers and mechanics employed directly upon the site of the work no less than the locally prevailing wages and fringe benefits paid on projects of a similar character as determined by the U.S. Secretary of Labor.
BIDDING DOCUMENTS. On or after June 1, 2022, the Bidding Documents may be examined, accessed, and obtained as follows:

Bidding Documents will be available between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All Bidders who require hard copies of Bidding Documents shall place an order directly with A & D Technical Supply and shall pay all costs associated with printing and, if applicable, all shipping costs. Only full and complete sets will be printed; partial set orders are not allowed. Hard copy Bidding Documents do not need to be returned as no refund will be issued.
