You are invited to bid on a combined contract, including general, mechanical and electrical work for the Generator and Burner Replacement at the Douglas County Health Center.
Bids shall be on a Lump Sum basis for Base Bid and Alternate Bids as indicated on the Bidding Documents.
The Owner would like substantial completion of the project within 26 weeks from contract award including all accepted alternates.
Anticipated award of contract and construction commencement date is November 12, 2019.
Douglas County will receive sealed bids until 11:00 AM Central Time on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at the LC1 Offices of the City Clerk, Omaha – Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam St., Omaha, NE 68183-0011. Bids received after this time will not be accepted.
A tour of the existing building and a pre-bid conference will be held at the building on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interested parties are to meet at the Douglas County Boiler Plant, see project cover sheet for more information. Bidders are encouraged to attend walkthrough.
Any interpretation or corrections to contract documents arising from bid questions will be made by addendum only.

Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at A&D Technical Supply Company, 4230 South 89th Street, Omaha, NE 68127, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders upon depositing the sum of $100.00.
Any bidder upon returning the documents in good condition immediately following the public opening of the bids, shall be returned the deposit in full.
Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany the Bid in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders.
The Owner reserved the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all Bids as may be deemed in the Owner’s interest.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that contract will be entered into should award be made thereon, a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany bid. City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part, and the bidders shall have the right to appeal any decision to the City Council.

BID OPENING DATE: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019
Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the opening time, as per specifications on file in the office of the Douglas County Purchasing Agent. These documents may also be found at www.douglascountypurchasing.org.
Sealed bids should be addressed to Elizabeth Butler, City Clerk, 1819 Farnam Street, LC 1 - Omaha Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, NE 68183 and marked BID ON: Grounds Maintenance for ROWs (Areas 1 and 3) and must be on file in her office on or before 11:00 a.m., on the bid opening date at which time the bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC 4, Omaha Douglas Civic Center.
As evidence of good faith and guarantee that a contract will be entered into should an award be made thereon, a bid bond statement must accompany the bid in the amount of: $1,000.00. Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.
Douglas County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
