“PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE”

The DOT.Comm (Douglas/Omaha Technology Commission) Oversight Committee will meet on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in the Jesse Lowe Conference Room, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE. Access to the Civic Center is through the Harney Street entrance only.  The meeting will also be available using video conferencing. Instructions for video conferencing and the agenda for the meeting is posted on the DOTComm website - www.dotcomm.org

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

You are hereby notified that public hearings will be held before the Douglas County Board of Commissioners at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the Legislative Chamber, Omaha-Douglas County Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, NE.

1.  Hexagon Helicopters, applicant - Text amendments to the Douglas County zoning regulations as follows: 

a.           Text change amending Article 4, Table 4.1 Permitted Uses by Zoning District of the Douglas County Zoning Regulations to add “Preferred Permission Required Heliport” as a special use in the AG district, under commercial uses; and

b.  “Preferred Permission Required Heliport” to be added to Article 3, Use Types, to read as follows: A privately-owned area of land which is used for the landing and takeoff of helicopters, and any appurtenant areas which are used for fueling, maintenance, repairs, storage, buildings, and other heliport facilities and is developed for exclusive use of the owner and persons authorized by the owner and about which the owner and operator ensure all authorized pilots are thoroughly knowledgeable. These features include but are not limited to: approach/departure path characteristics, preferred heading, facility limitations, lighting, obstacles in the area, and size and weight capacity of the facility.

2.  Hexagon Helicopters, Inc., applicant - Special Use Permit to allow for a preferred permission required heliport on approximately 5 acres at Section 12, Township16, Range 9 in the NW ¼ NE ¼, Parcel # 0101530002, approximate address 280th Street and Highway 36.
