Eleven Patients Under Quarantine in Omaha Test Positive for New Coronavirus
Eleven of the 13 patients brought to Omaha believed to be exposed to the new coronavirus tested positive, the CDC confirmed last week.
The other two tested negative for COVID-19 last Monday, based on results completed by the Nebraska Public Health Lab.
Nebraska Medicine is treating 10 people in the National Quarantine Unit and the others in the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit. All the patients arrived Feb. 17 from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
Separately, the 57 people under quarantine at Camp Ashland went home. Local agencies involved included the Douglas County, Sarpy-Cass, Lincoln-Lancaster and Three Rivers health departments as well as the state health and emergency management departments and the Nebraska National Guard.
