Gretna Public Schools Public Notices 7/3/2026
7:00 PM - NOTICE OF HEARING
TO AMEND THE BUDGET FOR
GRETNA PUBLIC SCHOOLS:
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of State Statute Section 13-511, that the Gretna Public Schools Board of Education will meet on the 13th day of July, 2026, at 7 o’clock, PM, at 11717 S 216th Street, Gretna, NE for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to amending the budget which was originally adopted on the 8th day of September, 2025. Due to unforeseen circumstances, actual expenditures for the current fiscal year will exceed budgeted limits unless revised. The school district is requesting an additional $2M in disbursement authority for bond principal and interest. This amendment allows the District to repurchase outstanding bonds at a discount via a market tender offer, generating net taxpayer savings. This additional disbursement authority does not result in any change to the property tax request or corresponding levy. The existing budget cannot be reduced to fund this opportunity because current bond fund proceeds are fully committed to existing debt obligations, making this amendment necessary to finalize the tender offer and secure these savings. The budget detail is available at the Gretna Public Schools Administrative Offices (11717 S. 216th Street, Gretna, NE) during regular business hours.
TO FOLLOW- BOARD MEETING: PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, the Board of Education of Sarpy County School District 77-0037, a/k/a Gretna Public School District School will hold a regular meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026, following the Hearing to Amend the Budget for Gretna Public Schools. at the Gretna Public Schools - Administration Building located at 11717 South 216th Street, Gretna, Nebraska, in the Board of Education Meeting Room. An agenda for the meeting, which shall be kept continually current, is readily available for public inspection on the Gretna Public Schools website and at the Superintendent’s office during normal business hours.
