NOTICE OF ELECTION
MILLARD PUBLIC SCHOOLS ELECTION
FEBRUARY 11, 2025
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 11th day of February, 2025 in the Millard Public School District, Douglas and Sarpy Counties, Nebraska, a special election will be held. The election will be by mail; therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Said election will be held for the registered voters of Douglas and Sarpy Counties who reside within the Millard Public School District who will approve or reject the following proposition:
PROPOSITION
“Shall Douglas County School District 0017 in the State of Nebraska (a/k/a Millard Public Schools) issue the Bonds of said District in the principal amount of not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Eight Million Dollars ($158,000,000) for the purpose of paying the costs of: improving the safety and security of school building facilities; renovations and repairs to school buildings and other facility maintenance to replace building components at the end of their useful life; as well as facility improvements related to special education programs, skilled trades education, and other educational programs, including constructing capital improvements, additions, making repairs or site improvements of existing district buildings, and providing the necessary equipment and apparatus for such buildings, such bonds to be issued from time to time, to be sold at such price or prices, to bear interest at such rate or rates, to become due at such time or times and to have such other terms and provisions, all as may be fixed and determined by the Board of Education of the District; and
“Shall the District cause to be levied and collected annually a special levy of taxes against all the taxable property in the District sufficient in rate and amount to pay the interest, principal and premium on said Bonds as the same become due?”

Electors voting in favor of said proposition must fill in the oval ( ) next to the words “FOR said bonds and tax” following said proposition, and electors voting against said proposition must fill in the oval ( ) next to the words “AGAINST said bonds and tax” following the proposition.
By-Mail Election
This election will be an election by mail. All registered voters currently residing within the Millard Public School District will receive their ballot by mail, and therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Ballots will be mailed by the Douglas County Election Commission and Sarpy County Election Commission between Tuesday, January 21 and Friday, January 31, 2025.
Voter Registration Deadlines
• Residents within the district and Douglas County must register at the Douglas County Election Commission.
• Residents within the district and Sarpy County must register with the Sarpy County Election Commission.
• The deadline to register to vote online, at an agency, with a deputy registrar, or by mail is Friday, January 24, 2025.
• The deadline for in-person registration at the respective election office is Friday, January 31, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
Ballot Return Deadline
• All voted ballots must be received by the respective election office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
• Ballots voted by Douglas County voters must be delivered or mailed to the Douglas County Election Commission at 12220 W Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska 68144 or placed in a Douglas County Election Commission official ballot drop box. Drop box locations available for this election are as follows:
