The downtown Omaha ballpark and the arena in Ralston both have new names for 2022.

TD Ameritrade Park will be renamed Charles Schwab Field Omaha, and the Ralston Arena is is being renamed the Liberty First Credit Union Arena.

Charles Schwab Corp. announced that it had obtained the naming rights to the baseball stadium through 2029.

The 24,000-seat stadium had been known as TD Ameritrade Park since it opened a decade ago. Schwab purchased TD Ameritrade in 2020.

“We will continue to assure that Charles Schwab Field Omaha remains a top tier facility while helping to oversee its massive rebranding efforts in the new year,” said Roger Dixon, president and CEO of Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority.

An agreement with MECA calls for interior and exterior signage featuring Charles Schwab branding, the company said in a release.

“We are excited and honored to play a role in maintaining the bond the College World Series venue has with the great city of Omaha and the more than seven decades of tradition that comes with the event,” said Jonathan Craig, managing director of investor services and marketing at Charles Schwab.

In Ralston, new exterior signage will go up following the official change of name on Jan. 1, but references to the Ralston Arena have already changed over to Liberty First Credit Union, which purchased the naming rights for 10 years for $1.675 million.

Liberty First has four Lincoln locations, a branch in Seward, and has recently opened a new branch in Omaha at 108th and L streets.

Frank Wilber, president and CEO of the credit union, said in a release that the company chose to be Ralston Arena’s naming rights partner because of the sense of community at the facility.

“It is more than just an arena. It is a community hub that brings people together. I am an avid recreational hockey player, and the arena hosts several hockey leagues and a variety of other accessible, local events. It makes the metro a better place,” Wilber said.

Ralston City Administrator Rick Hoppe said Ralston was fortunate to find a naming rights partner “with deep Nebraska roots.”

“The credit union industry’s motto of ‘people helping people’ aligns perfectly with the values of the people of Ralston,” Hoppe said Dec. 8. “Today’s announcement is evidence of the arena’s evolution into a regional leader for event centers of our class. It is a great place to be for high quality, affordable, entertainment.”
