OPL Requests Feedback on New Southwest Branch Plans
The Omaha Public Library Board of Trustees is planning a public meeting Thursday, Oct. 3, to discuss plans to build a library in southwestern Douglas County.
The library would be built near 210th and Q Streets. The goal is to reduce pressure on the Millard Branch at 13214 Westwood Lane.
Feedback will be solicited at the upcoming community discussion, held 5 to 7 p.m. at Millard Horizon High School, 5300 George B. Lake Parkway.
A library consultant will walk participants through a discussion of how they would use the new location and what features they would like to see at the branch.
Previous community forums and surveys indicated that four-fifths of patrons supported the construction of a new southwest library. OPL said that it will receive $15 million in city funding toward the construction of the new location in 2020.
Those unable to attend the meeting can complete a survey at omahalibrary.org.
