Staff Members Don’t Count Against 10 Person Limit Under County Emergency Health Order
Douglas County clarified rules for its restrictions on public gatherings, bringing it in line with a state directive for Douglas, Sarpy, Cass and Washington counties.
The amended COVID-19 order, issued last Friday after the initial March 17 order, excludes staff from the limitation on public gatherings. That means a retail outlet can have 10 customers or other members of the public at once, in addition to its workers.
Liquor, beer and wine sales are restricted to carryout and delivery only. Lines for carryout and drive-through service must offer an environment where patrons and staff can maintain 6 feet of distance whenever possible.
Any person, business or group cited by law enforcement can appeal the ticket by requesting a hearing with the department.
The order remains in place through April 30, but that date will be evaluated based on developments with the COVID-19 outbreak.
