NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON
APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL RESOURCES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 3:00 PM CT on Thursday, May 21, 2024, virtually at https://bit.ly/3JNh8pe, Brinshore Development, LLC will hold a public hearing concerning an application to the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for a Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) award. This funding is available to eligible entities to rebuild the affected areas impacted by DR-4420 and provide crucial seed money to start the recovery process.
Brinshore Development, LLC is requesting $1,650,000 in CDBG-DR funds for the new construction of the Y Street Townhomes housing development project, which consists of approximately 14 units of affordable and market rate rental housing for families in Omaha. Approximately 11 units will be income restricted at below 80% of the area median income. Y Street Townhomes is a housing phase of the Southside Terrace – Indian Hill HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) Grant. The Y Street Townhomes project will increase the affordable housing supply in a disaster-impacted area. The project will be located on vacant lots located at 3202 through 3310 Y Street. The total project development cost is approximately $8.05 million. Other project funding sources include the approximately $4,980,000 of philanthropic support, and a first mortgage in the approximate amount of $1,420,000. Required/reasonable benefits will be provided to persons displaced to mitigate adverse effects and hardships. Any low and moderate income housing which is demolished or converted will be replaced.
The grant application will be available upon request. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing at which time you will have an opportunity to be heard regarding the grant application. Written and oral testimony will also be accepted at the public hearing scheduled for 3 PM CT, May 21, 2024, at https://bit.ly/3JNh8pe. Written comments addressed to Bill Lukash at wlukash@brinshore.com will be accepted if received on or before May 21, 2024.
