Verdian CU Awards $15,000 to Three Omaha Area Nonprofits

Veridian Credit Union has given $15,000 to Omaha non-profits as part of its Successful Financial Future Grant program.
Veridian distributed $70,000 in grants to 15 groups across Nebraska and Iowa to promote financial literacy and employment readiness.
“Deficiencies in financial literacy and employment readiness can create long-term barriers to a successful financial future,” said Angela Weekley, Veridian’s community inclusion manager. “Our grant program is aimed at identifying and supporting organizations who are helping people in our communities overcome those barriers.”
The credit union gave $5,000 reach to Girls & Boys Club of the Midlands, Heartland Family Service and Junior Achievement of the Midlands, all based in Omaha.
