WIC Shifts to Requiring Phone Appointments for Participants
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children has shifted to providing remote services over the phone due to the pandemic.
“Local WIC offices in Douglas Sarpy County will continue to provide services to our WIC families and new enrollees during this pandemic,” said Sarah Hortman, supervisor of Douglas/Sarpy County WIC. “To protect our WIC participants and staff during this time, beginning April 1, 2020, and until further notice, we are offering program benefits only through remote services over the phone.”
The federal Department of Agriculture has loosened regulations on the delivery of WIC services to allow appointments to be conducted remotely. To check on eligibility, call 402-444-1770.
