Lincoln – Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts ordered the closure last Thursday of all salons, tattoo parlors and strip clubs and announced the cancellation of organized group sports until May 31, expanding an order that was already in place in the state’s biggest cities.

Lincoln – Nebraska saw record unemployment yet again last week as the new coronavirus forced more businesses to lay off workers, according to new data release last Thursday.
The state received 26,788 new unemployment claims during the week that ended April 4, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The new numbers mark the third straight week with a record-setting increase.

Kearney – A third staff member and three residents at Nebraska’s Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney have now tested positive for the coronavirus, state health officials reported.
