The Omaha Summer Arts Festival has followed guidance from the City of Omaha and Douglas County Health Department and has canceled this year’s festival.
The festival will return June 11-13, 2021, in North Downtown.

The Omaha Bar Association has transitioned its “Bar Talk” podcast to a twice weekly “Virtual Chat” video conference on Zoom, which is streamed on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. For those not on social media, the OBA has a page of past episodes on its website, omahabarassociation.com.

The Omaha Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service is continuing its call-in operations to make high quality referrals to regular fee private attorneys.
The program now allows for the initial consultations to be done as telephone or video conferences.

The Omaha Farmers Market has announced it plans to open the first weekend in June instead of the traditional first weekend in May, in accordance with City of Omaha and the Douglas County Health Department guidance.

Last Tuesday, Douglas County officials received confirmation that a second Douglas County Health Center resident died from COVID-19. The long term care resident, a woman in her 90s with comorbidities, had been hospitalized after contracting the virus.
Erin Nelson, administrator of the DCHC, said staff believe they have contained the spread of the virus to two areas of the health center.

Werner Enterprises assisted the State of Nebraska in its efforts to source and deliver critical medical supplies for hospitals and public health agencies across the state in the fight against COVID-19.
Werner’s global logistics operation used its supplier base to secure over 500,000 protective gloves, 300,000 medical N95 face masks and 5,000 infrared thermometers.

Lincoln – Soldiers and airmen from the Nebraska National Guard continue to provide logistical and planning support to partners at the state and federal levels.
A total of 123 Nebraska National Guard troops are involved in response efforts. A 23-member team is providing mobile testing in the Kearney area. Another 24-member team is deployed to Grand Island for another mobile testing site.
