Westside Community Schools (hereinafter referred to as “the District” or “WCS”) invites bids on:

Bids are to be made on the bid form enclosed.  One completed copy of the bid form is to be returned to the School District signed by the bidder.

Documents will be available between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  All bidders who require hard copies of bid documents shall place an order directly with A & D Technical Supply and shall pay all costs associated with printing and if applicable, all shipping costs.  Only full and complete sets will be printed - partial set orders are not allowed.  Hard copy bid documents do not need to be returned as no refund will be issued.

CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS

 

Notice is hereby given of a Board of Education Meeting for Westside Community Schools, District 66, Douglas County, in the State of Nebraska, to be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office, 909 S. 76th St., Omaha, NE, for the purpose of interviewing finalist candidates for a vacancy on the Board of Education. If necessary, interviews will also be scheduled for Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office. In the event interviews are NOT needed on Thursday, June 29, 2023, this information will be updated on the District website at westside66.org by 12 Noon on June 26, 2023. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is:

Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

A paper set of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Engineer upon pre-payment by cash, check, or using prepaid account with Engineer of $50.00 if picked up and $60.00 if mailed (both non-refundable). Contractor must give 24-hour notice to Engineer when picking up paper sets. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from other sources.

 

Bid Security

The Bid Security shall be in a separate sealed envelope attached to the Proposal envelope and shall be marked “BID SECURITY FOR ACCESS DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS” with the bidder’s name and address on said envelope. Each Bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or Bid Bond (on the form included with the

Bidding Documents) in the amount of FIVE PERCENT (5%) OF BASE BID AMOUNT and shall be payable without condition to WESTSIDE PUBLIC SCHOOLS as a guarantee that the Bidder, if successful, will execute the Agreement and provide an acceptable Contract Bond from an approved surety in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price.

 

Payment Procedures

The Owner will issue payment to the Contractor in the amount of 90% of the contracted value of the completed work as of the end of the preceding month, as recommended by the Engineer. Payment for the balanced retained will be issued by the Owner upon completion of the work and approval thereof by the Owner’s Engineer, city or other governmental agency approval when necessary, and acceptance by the Owner.

For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.
