LINCOLN — The first results are in, and spending on charitable gambling does not appear to have been impacted by the advent of casinos in Nebraska — at least not yet.
In the last quarter of 2022, Nebraskans wagered $97.2 million on keno, pickle cards, bingo and the state lottery, a nearly 5% increase over the months of July, August and September, according to a report issued Thursday.

Under the Free File agreement, Americans who make less than $73,000 per year should be able to file their taxes for free with one of the tax preparation companies that partners with the IRS. But this program has been historically underutilized, with just 4% of eligible Americans filing for free in 2021.

LINCOLN — With Nebraska today unable to fill as many as 80,000 jobs, the statewide business chamber wants to amplify the push to boost the Husker tech image and overall workforce numbers.
“This next generation goes where the technology jobs are,” Bryan Slone, president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said Tuesday. ‘We need to be known as a technology state.”

When the Federal Reserve convenes at the end of January 2023 to set interest rates, it will be guided by one key bit of data: the U.S. inflation rate. The problem is, that stat ignores a sizable chunk of the country – rural America.
Currently sitting at 6.5%, the rate of inflation is still high, even though it has fallen back slightly from the end of 2022.
