Not Every Kid Needs A Mentor, But Every Kid Deserves One

Published by Nikki Palmer on Wed, 02/15/2023 - 2:00am

Families, schools, and teachers do a lot to support Nebraska kids, but sometimes they need more. That is where mentors fill the gap. Fewer ‘Friends,’ More Coffee

Published by Nikki Palmer on Mon, 02/13/2023 - 4:00am

As Nebraska’s three House members voted to gut the Congressional Office of Ethics and add $114 billion to the deficit and Nebraska State Sen. Steve Erdman dissed George Norris, I was celebrating being Facebook free, lightening my already reedy-thin social media footprint.

Rent…On Time Every Time

Published by Nikki Palmer on Thu, 02/09/2023 - 3:00am

History is littered with what, at the time, were considered “game changers.”  Those game changers have become commonplace in our current world; when was the last time you marveled at the technological breakthrough we know as the wheel?  Or the lightbulb?  Or even the fact that we fly in airplanes all around the world?  The likelihood is we dismiss or overlook these incredible technologies and innovations because we have become so familiar with them.  We don’t see just how amazing these everyday conveniences are and ho

My ‘Entrepreneur Of The Year’ Nomination (Part 2 of 2)

Published by Nikki Palmer on Tue, 02/07/2023 - 3:00am

Entrepreneurs are today’s American heroes, and that’s a good thing. But too many people have an unrealistic picture in their heads of how things are going to go. They think that being a successful entrepreneur means they will be universally loved and rewarded, both financially and psychologically, and that everything will go without a hitch as long as they find the right idea.

Life Is A Mirror

Published by Nikki Palmer on Tue, 02/07/2023 - 1:00am

Let’s discuss an uncomfortable subject by looking at the statement: “Life Is a Mirror.” This concept is an extension of Be x Do = Have, the Zig Ziglar formula. It says that our life, as we experience it, reflects our beliefs about ourselves – that we, in effect, cause ourselves to live the life we believe we deserve.
