Alfred G. Ellick Jr. believed people deserved to have legal representation, regardless of their financial situation. So, in 1962, while serving as president of the Omaha Bar Association, he created the Omaha Lawyer Referral Service. 

In its first year, Ellick recruited 60 attorneys to help indigent people. Today, more than 130 lawyers across the Omaha Metro offer their services. 

Shawn King hired Humpty Dumpty to sit on a wall to help promote his auto dealership, King’s Kar World. King provided a molded seat for the egg to sit on for her comfort. What happened next was left for a jury to determine. 

Humpty Dumpty lost her balance and fell several feet, shattering her shell. King and all of King's men tried to put Humpty back together, but the damage was done. She claimed she now had a fear of heights and couldn't work as a promoter any longer. 

Humpty Dumpty sued King, seeking financial damages for her injuries. 

It's not often that the idea to become a pilot hits someone as they jump out of a plane a few thousand feet above the ground. For Lana Huetson, it made absolute sense as she leapt out of the plane during her first - and only - sky diving experience. 

Having never flown on a commercial jet, Huetson's first flight was on a small plane. 

The senior aviation major at the University of Nebraska-Omaha fulfilled a dream, only to have an epiphany as she parachuted back to earth. 

Growing up in a military family, it wasn't that Scott Wood was expected to follow suit; rather it was his choice of military branch that may have rankled a few elders. 

Wood's father enjoyed a career in the Army National Guard. Others in the family served in the United States Air Force. But, the Upstate New Yorker decided the oceans of the world were calling him, so he opted to serve in the Navy. 

Wood spent four years as a Master-at-arms, the Navy's version of military police. He originally enlisted as a Sea Bee, planning to work heavy construction.
