On a hot, overcast Saturday at Ralston High School, with rain dripping from the clouds, the Omaha Stockmen dismantled the Albert Lea (Minnesota) Grizzlies 42-7.
The Stockmen, 5-1 and champions of the Frontier Conference of the Southern Plains Football League, are Omaha's answer to summer football.
The Stockmen have played semi-professional football since 2015. They're Omaha's latest incarnation of minor league football.

Imperial tablecloths with gold etchings lay on maroon tables, which themselves stood upon dark floors. Surrounded by broad mirrors, the restaurant's atmosphere was both quaint and regal. No doubt, you’ve heard the derogatory terms flailed by both sides of the political aisle, as if they were members of an opposing team, instead of a united nation. The stony silence at family gatherings, where guests would rather throw plates than break bread, if they even meet at all. And, where former friends only talk at each other, instead of to each other, or no longer speak, severing all personal ties.

At first glance, Matt Kuhse wasn't sure what to make of Michael W. Jensen. In 2006, Don Kleine was elected as Douglas County attorney, moving from the Nebraska Attorney General's Office, and Jensen was one of the people from that office joining him in Omaha.
Kuhse, who served as a deputy attorney for the county from 2001-16 before moving full-time to the City of Omaha, was assigned to a team with Jensen after Kleine assumed the county attorney's role in 2007.

Less than 20 miles separated freedom from slavery for Blacks in the mid-1800s. For abolitionists, Nebraska City played a key role along the Underground Railroad.
Enslaved people who escaped from Missouri sneaked through Kansas and north to Falls City, Nebraska, and then on to Nebraska City before making the final leg of their journey to Tabor, Iowa.
Nebraska was the westernmost portion of the Underground Railroad. And Nebraska City's Mayhew Cabin is considered one of the most important historical places along the trail.

When people do things right, especially when what they are doing is counter to the cultural norms, it is important to let them know. There is a restaurant in Omaha whose mission does the city proud; like a gem on a crown of nobility, Ooh-De-Lally shines all on its own. From the restaurant's website, its mission:
