NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on May 5, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

An ordinance declaring the necessity of acquiring, for use by the City of Omaha, the necessary private property for the purpose of the North 24th Street Streetscape – Ohio Street to Sahler Street, identified as OPW 54675; providing that the City negotiate with the property owners for land acquisitions, permanent easements and temporary construction easements; providing that as to each specified parcel which cannot be obtained by negotiation, condemnation proceedings be undertaken and completed.

 

An ordinance to amend Section 23 - 177 of the Omaha Municipal Code concerning employment classifications by adding the employment classification entitled Custodian with an hourly pay range for the 2026 payroll year of $20.00 to $27.00; to repeal Section 23 - 177 as heretofore existing.

 

An ordinance to amend Section 23 - 177 of the Omaha Municipal Code concerning employment classifications by adding the employment classification entitled Budget Manager with a salary range of $114,774.40 to $161,096.00; to repeal Section 23 - 177 as heretofore existing.

 

An ordinance to amend Section 23 - 177 of the Omaha Municipal Code by changing the salary for the employment classification known as Greenhouse Foreman from a salary range of $65,915.20 to $86,091.20 to a salary range of $65,915.20 to $90,542.40; to repeal Section 23 - 177 as heretofore existing.

 

An ordinance to approve the Omaha Downtown Improvement District Association (ODIDA) 2026-2027 Budget and Workplan and levying a special tax and assessment on all lots and pieces of real estate within Business Improvement District No. 6874 in the City of Omaha in the amount of $770,491.01; such assessment shall cover the costs anticipated by the Business Improvement District for March 2026 to February 2027 and contemplated by Ordinance No. 37504 which was approved by the City Council of the City of Omaha on October 3, 2006, and reauthorized by Ordinance No. 38957 approved on March 8, 2011 and amended by Ordinance No. 41463 approved on April 26, 2018.

 

An ordinance to establish, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “B” Flammable Liquids Storage District to be known as District No. B-228 at 2451 North 90th Street as requested by Walmart.

ORDINANCE NO. 44657

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located northwest of State Street and Blair High Road from AG - Agricultural District and GI - General Industrial District to GI - General Industrial District.
