NOTICE TO PUBLIC

 

The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Jesse Lowe Conference Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on July 14, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

An ordinance to amend Omaha Municipal Code Sections 34-57 to create a penalty for those who commence excavation in City right-of-way without a permit; the penalty of $100.00 per day will continue up such time as a permit is secured; to repeal Sections 34-57 as heretofore existing.

 

An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for cutting and clearing weeds, grass and worthless vegetation in accordance with Sections 18-21 through 18-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2020-08.

 

An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for litter removal in accordance with Sections 18-21 through 18-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2020-09.

 

An ordinance authorizing the approval of the Service Agreement between the City of Omaha, Nebraska, on behalf of the Omaha Police Department (OPD), and     Idemia Identity and Security USA, LLC (IDEMIA), to lease an IDEMIA Ruggedized LiveScan Station for digital fingerprinting, for a term of five years with the option to renew for another five years, and can be done so administratively.

 

An ordinance to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the Nebraska Crime Commission, FY 2019 STOP Violence Against Women (VAWA) Grant, Award #2019-WF-AX-0004 ($221,471) and Award #2017-WF-AX-0004 ($24,644.45.00) in the amount of ($246,115.45), with a match of $66,491.00 during the project period of July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021; to enhance victim assistance services and prosecute cases of domestic violence through the multi-agency Douglas County Community Response Team as detailed in the grant application; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one fiscal year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Omaha Public Library will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. at the Benson Branch Library, 6015 Binney Street. Proposed agenda kept continually current is available in the Administrative Office at the W. Dale Clark Library and on the Library’s website at www.omahalibrary.org.  The Board reserves the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature at said public meeting when convened.  Requests for sign language interpreters or other alternative formats will require a minimum of 48 hours advance notice.  Please contact the Administrative Office at (402) 444-4834 if arrangements need to be made.
