REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PLAN

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will meet and hold a public hearing on October 3, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183 for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

Nook Apartments

Redevelopment Project Plan.

Applicant/Developer: Debra Christensen/Worthington 10, LLC

Location: 8th and Pine Streets

 

The redevelopment project plan proposes the existing single family dwellings will be demolished and 250 new residential for-rent units will be constructed in ten separate three story buildings.

The Planning Board recommended approval of this Redevelopment Project Plan at the August 2, 2023 public hearing.

The Redevelopment Project Plan authorizes the City’s participation in the redevelopment of this project site through the allocation of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) in an amount up to $6,113,822.00, which includes capitalized interest. TIF loan proceeds will be used to offset eligible expenses such as site work, demolition, engineered foundations, acquisition, architectural and engineering costs, and other public improvements as required. The total estimated project costs are $45,685,417.00, but are subject to change as final costs come in.

A copy of said plan is available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office.
