NOTICE TO PUBLIC

The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in Conference Room 702, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on September 20, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

An ordinance to approve the City of Omaha and Douglas County joint application to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), FY 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program application, in the amount of $419,168.00 for law enforcement programs, prevention and education programs, prosecution and court programs, corrections and community corrections programs, mental health programs and crisis intervention teams, and planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs during the period of October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2025; to provide the Council an opportunity for review and public comment for such application; and upon award of such       grant to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.

An ordinance to approve a Major Amendment to a Mixed Use District Development Agreement for Pine Creek, located southwest of 156th and State Streets, between the City of Omaha and Ayars & Ayars, Inc., providing site development standards.

An ordinance to approve an amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Omaha City Employees, Local 251, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO; to amend Article 20, Section 6 of the Collective Bargaining Agreements which addresses ASE Certification Pay by replacing the language in the current Agreement with the revised version; to provide that any ordinances of the City of Omaha, and any rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, which are in conflict with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement shall not be applicable to those employees in the Bargaining Unit described in Article 1, Section 1, of said Collective Bargaining Agreement; to provide authorization for the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest her signature.

An ordinance to establish, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “A” Flammable Liquids Storage District to be known as District No. A-162 at 5808 North 16th Street, as requested by Vincentini Properties, LLC.

An ordinance to accept the second low bid from Midwest Maintenance Co., Inc. in the annual amount of $419,259.57, involving appropriations of more than one year as provided in 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter, to provide janitorial services at the Omaha Police Department Headquarters facility and satellite precinct stations and facilities located throughout the City for a three-year period, with two additional one-year options held by the City; to authorize the Finance Department to make payments from a specified account to Midwest Maintenance Co., Inc. for the cost of janitorial services in accordance with the specifications.

An ordinance to amend Section 23 - 177 of the Omaha Municipal Code concerning employment classifications by adding the employment classification entitled Economic Development Program Administrator with a salary range of $54,766.40 to $81,806.40; to repeal Section 23 - 177 as heretofore existing.

An ordinance to approve and execute a Cost Participation Agreement between the City of Omaha and Southside Redevelopment Corporation, dba Canopy South.  This Cost Participation Delivery Agreement governs the relationship with respect to the “Action Activities” component of the Choice Neighborhoods Planning and Action (“CNP”) Grant.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Omaha Public Library will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. at the Willa Cather Branch Library, 1905 South 44th Street. Proposed agenda kept continually current is available in the Administrative Office at the W. Dale Clark Main Library and on the Library’s website at www.omahalibrary.org.  The Board reserves the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature at said public meeting when convened.  Requests for sign language interpreters or other alternative formats will require a minimum of 48 hours advance notice.  Please contact the Administrative Office at (402) 444-4834 if arrangements need to be made.
