NOTICE INVITING BIDS

Douglas County Invitation To Bid on:   City of Omaha - 28th Avenue Public

Improvements

Bid Opening Date: Wednesday, August 5, 2020

Bid Opening Time:  11:00 AM

Sealed bids for the construction of the City of Omaha - 28th Avenue Public Improvements, 28th Avenue and Blondo Street are invited and will be received on or before the bid opening date, as per the project’s specifications.

Sealed bids to be addressed to Elizabeth Butler, City Clerk, LC-1, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, marked “BID ON:  City of Omaha - 28th Avenue Public Improvements”, must be in her office on or before 11:00 A.M. on the bid opening date at which time the bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC-4, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

All bidders are required to comply with the Omaha Contract Compliance Program.  Details of this program are incorporated in the bid documents.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that contract will be entered into should award be made thereon, a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany bid.  The bid bond or certified check shall be made payable to the “City of Omaha”.  Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.  City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part, and the bidders shall have the right to appeal any decision to the City Council.

Bids are to be submitted on the proposal forms and in accordance with plans and specifications available at www.questcdn.com. As evidence of good faith in submitting a proposal for this work, the bidder must file with his proposal, cash, certified check or bid bond, made payable to Douglas County in the sum of 5% of his bid, all of which shall be placed in a sealed envelope so marked as to indicate its contents without being opened.  This envelope is to be placed in another envelope, which shall be sealed and addressed to the County Clerk.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Surety Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract.

The Board of Douglas County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Bids will publicly be opened and read aloud in the City/County Legislative Chambers of the Omaha Douglas Civic Center on WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
