Neb. Rev. Stat. § 84-1411(6) provides that “[a] public body may allow a member of the public or any other witness to appear before the public body by means of virtual conferencing.” Id. Accordingly, this meeting shall also be available via video conferencing.

4. Citizen Comments:  This is an opportunity for members of the audience to be heard for a maximum of five (5) minutes on any topic not on the agenda as it relates to the Douglas County Criminal Justice System. However, under the Open Meetings Act, agenda items should give reasonable notice of the matters to be considered by the Douglas County Criminal Justice System Management Council so that the public will know which matters are under consideration. As a result, members of the Management Council will not engage in discussions, conversations, debates, or take action on any item presented during Citizen Comments. During Citizen Comments, the Chair will keep order and a citizen may be called “out of order” for disruptive conduct or behavior.

ENTRY LEVEL 

DEPUTY SHERIFF POSITION

 

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, 3601 N. 156th Street, Omaha, NE 68116 (www.omahasheriff.org) is accepting applications for full-time Deputy Sheriff positions. Hourly range is $33.05/hr to $45.95/hr plus extensive benefits. Minimum qualifications include: 21 years of age before completion of the training program, in good physical condition, High School Diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and a United States citizen. Must pass the entry-level testing/interview process and an extensive background check to include polygraph testing, psychological exam, medical exam, and pre-employment drug testing. Applications will be available and accepted beginning Friday, June 19, 2026, through Sunday, August 2, 2026.
